Design Philosophy

It’s plain and simple really. My goal is to help you as the homeowner to find your style and reflect that style in your space in a polished way that reflects who you are and how you live your life in your home.

Design & Decorating Skills

Have you ever walked into a room or space and wanted to leave immediately? Well most likely it is because the basics of design were not applied well and as a result the space has a negative psychological affect on you.

Color, scale, and balance…are the basics of design that come naturally to me. If you combine these three elements with skill and style the space is successful and you will simply want to be in it because it feels right and comfortable. If you don’t know how to do this then that is why I am here to help you.

My Personal Design Style

I like to mix clean lines and contemporary art with traditional pieces. A traditional rug paired with a simple line sofa that is home to rustic burlap throw pillows. Maybe this makes me eclectic but I associate eclectic with the bohemian style and a bit of extra clutter which really isn’t me. I like rustic elements and a nod toward nature which can be found throughout my own home but often paired with a unique photograph or painting that is most definitely contemporary. You will not find an excessive amount of tchotchke dust collectors in my house but a few select pieces that add personalization and a sense of things being collected over time.

• Bachelor of Art in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa (Graduated 1994)
• Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute (Graduated 2007)
• Allied Member ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) since 2007
• Volunteer ASID Program Committee Member in 2009
• Editor of ASID Colorado Connections (ASID Chapter Quarterly Magazine) from 2010 to 2011
• Studying to Earn CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) and CBD (Certified Bath Designer) Certification

Work Experience:

• Current Full-Time Position: Sales & Design Associate for Complete Kitchens
