Owls, they seem to be everywhere now. This isn’t a brand new trend but one that has caught my recent attention again. Maybe because I just think they are beautiful, elusive, and some are simply just cute.
I’d love this little guy looking at me from my desk every morning (but I don’t trust that my cat, Leroy wouldn’t steal it because he likes little things and is the hoarder of the house)…
You most likely saw these little ones in my recent post. I wanted to share them again because they are so simple and pristine.
Getting into the Halloween spirit I watched Martha Stewart on prime time last night (yes I’m a dork) make these pumpkin owls on her show last night. For a moment I actually believed I could do it myself but given that I’m still figuring out the “punch around the page” tool I recently bought from the Martha Stewart crafts collection I highly doubt I’ve got the skill to pull these off in time for Halloween. That doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate their uniqueness from afar…
With everything vintage being such a trend at the moment it doesn’t surprise me that owls have made a comeback from the 60′s and 70′s. I found these home accessories to be charming and they would add an eclectic touch to just about any room.
The grand-daddy owl of them all is my absolute favorite (and of course the most expensive but worth it). It’s the paper sculpture from Australian artist Anna Wili Highfield. Her work is stunning, breathtaking, and almost gives the sense of being elusive (in a good way) much like an owl.

Oh I love the owls, they make me think of my Grandmother
I love the last one as well. The pumpkins are also cute.
